Nox

The minimal and patient builds-to-crescendo of the group’s compositions result in a meditative and hypnotic listen that becomes almost narrative when combined with found sound splices, and the films of their visual collaborators. Nox formed in 2003. Catherine Graindorge (who plays violin in Belgium indie rock sensation Monsoon and occasionnally with fellow Brussels band Venus), joined up with boyfriend Elie Rabinovitch on drums and percussions and David Christophe on contrabass to start a set of gigs based on jazzy improvisation.

But in a very natural way, they set the controllers to more rock oriented compositions to produce a musical landscape of their own, in which walls move with incredible elasticity and whose windows look over the same playground as Constellation band Godspeed you black emperor.

The next year they self-released Demo), a set of songs previously performed live. Two months later, they re-entered the studio to extend their work onto a second ep: Complete Buanderie. This album was recorded at La Buanderie and mixed and mastered by Pierre Vervloesem
