Tom Van Dyck Quartet
‘Who Needs Words’ is not only the title track of this album, but also a collection of songs that tell powerful stories without words. Just as in real life, language is sometimes not the most suitable means of conveying a feeling.
Together with Milan Verbist on piano, Piet Verbist on bass (yes, the father of …) and Wim Eggermont on drums, these tracks were performed and recorded at Rockstar Recordings Studio in early April 2026. This quartet tells the nine stories (or eleven if you download the bonus tracks from bandcamp), whilst the musicians interact intensely with one another and with the audience … . Powerful, memorable themes; soloists who really spread their wings – whether on record or live, you’ll want to be there to experience it!
- Tom Van Dyck writes the tunes and appears on soprano & alto saxophones.
- Milan Verbist on piano
- Piet Verbist on double bass
- Wim Eggermont on drums
